By observing Ekadasi in the association of suddha-bhaktas, one starts to perceive dharma, artha, kama and moksa as insignificant, and develops characteristics of loving visuddha- bhakti for Sri Krsna, such as sravana and kirtana. ~ Skanda Purana

"madhava-tithi, bhakti-janani, jatane palana kari krsna-vasati, vasati boli’, parama-adare bari"

I carefully observe Madhava’s holy days [such as Ekadasi and Janmastami], for they are the mother of devotion. Knowing that Krsna dwells in these holy days, with great regard, I, also, accept them as my shelter. ~ Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur

Sri Krsna considers Ekadasi tithi to be superior even to Janmastami tithi. The supremely compassionate Bhagavan, Sri Krsna Himself, is present in this world as the embodiment of madhava-tithi, or Ekadasi. ~ Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja
